So many childhood memories of our times together when we lived in the valley.Duet playing “ Silent Night “ in the Christmas concert, singsongs at your house with some dancing ( carpet rolled up ) and just listening to guitars playing. You had such a gentle spirit which carried throughout your life. In later years when you arrived back in SJ we would often meet when shopping at Sobeys, have a quick catch up conversation, smile and collect our groceries. Peggy always would add to what you were doing.
To Charlie’s family, especially Gloria , Kathy and Reg, sending my sincere condolences during this most difficult time as you travel through this next part of life’s journey. Praying for God’s peace, comfort for today and the days ahead.

Our sincere condolences to Gloria and all of Charlie's family at this very sad time.
Charlie worked with us at Fullerton Music Studio as a guitar instructor. He was fun and pleasant and extremely well liked by students of all ages and we had a lot of fun back in those years. There were lots of students, staff members, music recitals all the time and always lots going on.
Charlie will be very sadly missed by all the students, parents and colleagues who knew him. Our sincere sympathy to Gloria and family.

I met Charlie many years ago but did not get to really know him or his immediate family. I am aware that he was a member of The Bells and I'm familiar with some of their hits. However I knew his sisters, Kathy and Peggy, very well. My condolences to Kathy and family because of the passing of two siblings in such a short period of time. I can't imagine what you must be feeling right now. However, God's "peace that passes understanding" is available to you and your family right now. (Philippians 4:7)

So sorry to hear of Charlie passing. He was such a great guy , i very much enjoyed learning a few songs and being entrusted to repair / refret his guitars, restore his Fender amp - and sell off a few things for him. I always think of Charlie when I play the chords he taught me “Summertime” - one of my favs. RIP Sorry we lost touch when I moved West.
Condolences Rod Hannah, San Francisco.

I met Charlie when we were kids , his parents and my parents would get together at George and Inez Fox's house for Saturday night sing alongs. Charlie would place an acoustic guitar on his lap and using the handle of a butter knife , he would play it like a steel guitar. Charlie's dad Herb was a long shoreman and would move his family to Montreal to work the summers there , I think that is where Charlie made friends in his younger years. When Charlie moved back to Saint John after the "Bells" , he formed a couple of bands and would play locally. During this time I was playing in bands with Rick Lester , Charlie would often sit in at our practices or jam sessions. Charlie was a fantastic guitar player and a great guy , always smiling and quick to laugh. We co-wrote a funny little song called "Sharks In The Harbour". I haven't seen Charlie for a while , but we would wave and toot each other when I would be riding my Harley and Charlie would be in his sports car. My deepest condolences to Charlie's family. Rest In Peace old friend.

There are no words to help, only to comfort knowing others understand. Please know our family knows that pain you feel right now.
Just all too sudden and much too soon……
Charles had a quiet, kind, gentle soul and a beautiful smile for everyone. All who knew him loved him, while millions more enjoyed his talent.
Know he will be not only missed but forever remembered.

My heartfelt sympathy to “ Charlie’s “ family. I grew up with the Clark family…we lived one street away. So many fond memories of those earlier years in the 50’s and 60’s. I loved hearing his music! Continue to share stories with laughter and tears as you mourn and grieve. I am out of the country and unable to attend his service. Donna Holding Schroeter

Kathy, Reg, and the rest of Charles's family. I was saddened and shocked when I booted my computer up today, in fact read the name 3 or 4 times before reading on because I just could not comprehend this news. I did not see him often but when I did we had a good chat, I thought he looked a lot like his father. Bob and I send our deepest condolences to all of you. We are in Rockport until the new year so will be unable to attend the wake or the funeral. Our family just keeps getting smaller and smaller and the young ones are going quickly. Love and prayers to all. Ann & Bob

Stealing Boats, The first time I met cousin Charlie was at our grandmother’s house many years ago in Dipper Harbour. That day, as young boys, we went to the wharf where we untied a dory and rowed around the harbour eventually returning to the dock tying up the boat securely and leaving. This activity was fondly remembered by both of us as the day we “ stole” the boat in Dipper Harbour and through the years when we would meet here and there, the day we stole the boat would often come up in conversation. I will remember Charlie for his musical accomplishments for sure and will be reminded of him when look at a guitar or hear certain songs but will continue to remember him as my partner in crime the day we stole the boat.
Gloria, Reg, Kathy, thinking of you and hope the great memories you have of Charlie provide comfort.
