To Avis' family,
I was lucky to meet Avis in 1976 when I went to Saint John Vocational School as a student teacher.....we became friends and were so ever since.
Her impact on my life cannot be understated.....we worked together, we travelled together and we laughed a lot together, etc.,etc., etc.
The adjectives to describe my friend are many: gracious, kind, funny, intelligent, talented.......I could go on and on.
I know you will miss her terribly as will I. There was no one like her.
RIP, my dear friend!
Dixie Coughlin
P.S. Please check this for typing errors as you know she would....ha ha

To the Booth family-
I am so sorry for your loss. Avis was such a lovely lady and I had the honour of working with her during the early part of my career at Saint John Vocational and Harbour View High School. She was always so encouraging, helpful and professional to me and to many other colleagues. After she retired, I would connect with her during the many events that my children shared with her grandchildren.
Her kindness and thoughtfulness will always be appreciated and remembered. My condolences to you all during this difficult time.

We were deeply saddened to learn of Avis’ passing. She was a very dear friend to our family for so many years. She helped our parents tremendously in those early struggling years. Too many memories to list but this one stands out for me and my 3 brothers. We will always remember making chocolate frogs with her. When I grew older she told me that we made them to keep the four Fedor kids busy! She really was my fairy Godmother and I will miss our telephone conversations. Our sincere condolences to the entire family. Avis will forever be in our hearts. Love the Fedor / McDermott Family

I have so many lovely memories of Avis when I was new teacher in the late 80s. She was so gracious, so helpful and caring. She was funny. I loved her laugh. She had a beautiful singing voice . She was always cheerful. Everyone at Saint John Vocational School loved her. She was the humble Matriarch. My condolences to her family.

It’s with fond memories of Avis that I express my sympathy. Avis “adopted” me when I became organist at St, Jude’s. I was sworn to secrecy when she and Bill were to be married and I was asked to play at the wedding. When I married my wife, Lynn, Avis welcomed her into my church family. As my sons were born, Avis was there as well. She was a great person with a beautiful voice. Kind, generous, and welcoming are three words that instantly come to mind. She will now be with Bill once again. Rest in peace my friend.

Susanne Sutton and I are very sorry to read of Avis' departure from this life. She and Bill were always a tremendous support, devoting a lot of time and energy, while I was serving at St. Jude's. We pray that she and Bill may rest in peace and light perpetual will shine upon them. May the consoling grace of our Lord Jesus be with you as you mourn her passing. She will be missed.

Avis first came into my life in 1967. I spent many lovely evenings with her mother and father, and wonderful weekends with her sister and her husband in Fredericton. I still put up the ceramic Christmas tree that Avis made for me in 1978. Avis was always very kind to me -an important Person in my life- and I loved her very much .

I was saddened to read this news about the passing of Avis. Avis and I go way back to our teacher training days in Moncton, many, many years ago. She, Dixie and I often got together for outings, always including a meal somewhere. Avis certainly was a wonderful hostess. My condolences to all her family and numerous friends. Unfortunately, I will not be in attendance, since I now live in BC. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. God bless.
