Ann Jeffrey

Obituary of Ann Jeffrey

It is with great sadness to announce the death of Ann Carter Jeffrey (nee Kingston) which occurred on June 30, 2023, in Saint John, New Brunswick.

Ann is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ed; two boys Rob (Heather) and Neil (Erin); sister Jane Murray (Ray); brother-in-law Art Jeffrey; sister-in-law Barb Keir (Jack); six grandchildren: Jamie, Morgan, June, Torre, Julia, and Sarah; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Ken and Connie Kingston.

Born on July 4, 1956, Ann was a lifelong west-sider. She loved growing up in Saint John and spent much of her childhood playing with her many cousins. She graduated from Saint John High School and worked as a Lab Technician at the Saint John Regional Hospital for over 30 years.

Watching the water and being around flowers gave Ann immense joy. She often spent hours outside in her garden at Sand Cove Road looking out onto the Bay. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and watching British mysteries on TV. She and her sister Jane were no strangers to shopping; frequenting their favorite stores together was something she loved.

Ann was a special person; genuine and selfless. Helping others is what made her happiest. She spent many days making home cooked meals for others, then sending out her delivery driver (Ed) to make the drop offs. They were the best team.

Family meant the world to Ann; a week rarely went by without a gathering. She loved hosting family dinners and always made enough food to feed an army. Her favorite visitors were without a doubt her beloved grandchildren. She absolutely loved spending time with them and seeing the cousins all play together.

Ann and her family are so grateful for the incredible medical care and kindness she received throughout her journey. Thank you to Dr. Sean Keyes Jr., Dr. M. Burnell, Bobby’s Hospice and all those involved along the way.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home (506) 634-1701 (309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John, NB). In respecting Ann’s wishes there will be no funeral or visitation. We ask you to keep Ann in your heart and do as she did: be kind, thoughtful and look out for one another. Donations in her honor can be made to the West Side Food Bank.
