Leona was a cousin and lifelong friend of my mother Muriel Starr (nee Woods) who died two years ago in Parksville BC. Mom spoke often and fondly of her visits to Welsford and all the fun she used to have with Leona and Ralph and their mother, Helena. Sincere condolences, Jaynie Starr

Some people complain because God put thorns on roses, while others praise Him for putting roses among thorns. While I lived in Welsford Leona was a rose to my family-she was a good friend and a wonderful person to my children. I count myself blessed to have known her. My sympathies to her family.
