Alexis, David, and Billy,I was so sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. I will always remember him pulling up in the parking lot with the whole family (your Mom in the back) and then enjoying whichever kid happened to be playing soccer that day.He was always ready to chat about soccer and especially about his kids! You are all in my thoughts and prayers,Patti

Billy, Dave and Alexis,I just want to say how sorry I am for your loss. Your father was made me feel like one of the kids when we travelled together on trips as kids. I still remember it as it was yesterday, blue Ford Taurus, oldies on the radio, Billy cracking jokes, Dave analyzing the newest Man U players and your father Jon always with words of encouragement. Your father was definitely a roll model for me and he's definitely going to be missed. My heart goes out to the whole Alty Clan. Lots of loveClayton

I was very sorry to hear about John. I worked with him for a few years and he was a great help to me by sharing some of his vast knowledge on all things rigging. I will always remember him for his stories, his great sense of humour and his booming laugh. My thoughts go out to you all for the loss of your father and grandfather.

Alexis, Dave and BillyWe are so sorry to hear of John's passing. He was a great guy all around and enjoyed life. Your Dad always had a smile and a little chuckle whenever he spoke of you , he was so proud of you three. He had the wonderful opportunity to spend time with his darling two little grandchildren, Matthew and Kate and that was very special for him. He and his love, Patsy, will continue to watch over you all, together again. Love you guys.

Not sure how to put into words how wonderful a man John was, but I do know that he was a man of values with a massive heart. Always going the distance for his family. Growing up with the Alty clan as kid and teenager, I felt as though I was one of the family at times; from the neighborhood soccer games every evening after supper to the tough training sessions in the yard on the weekends, John was a legend in my eyes and enjoyed his football like no other. I can still picture him running at us kids with the ball screaming ... " Look out here comes the great Eusébio" as he tried his hardest to dribble through all the kids. This never got old and I believe this is what kept so many kids coming back each night for more, he knew how to bring happiness to those around him. I can't imagine another figure that would be more recognized on the soccer pitches around Saint John as he rarely missed any of Alexis, David, or Billy's matches. I have numerous memories of John and even the most recent one in the UK this past March will always be stuck in my head and heart as his life is recognized and remember. My thoughts and prayers are with all his family during this time of reflection.- Tommy

Billy, Alexis, David I am so sorry for your loss I don't know what else to say. Your father was a great guy who always had a smart ass remark to make me laugh when I visited your house. At least he isn't in pain now and he's with your mother. I wish I could be there but unfortunately I won't be able to. My mother will do her best to be there to represent her and myself. My condolences to you all
