My older brother Bob and Doug were life long friends and Doug certainly welcomed me every time I saw him at the West Side Food Bank. His quiet friendly presence is going to be missed. May he rest in peace and light perpetual shine upon him.

Marg and Family,I was so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. You both were such great friends to my Mom, and our family appreciated so much all the kindness you extended to her in driving her to card games. I know Mom really loved Doug's gentle teasing! I am thinking of you at this time of loss and holding you in prayer and extending deepest sympathy to you all. May wonderful memories, the gift of faith, and the caring support of family and friends give you comfort.Rev. Charlene & John

Ian, Glen and family, I'm saddened to read of the passing of your father, Doug. I remember the early days (70's and 80's) on Winslow Street when your father, Everet O'Brien, Edgar Vautour (my dad) and Frank Quinn would all be drinking their home-brewed coffees and smoking cigarettes discussing current affairs and arguing about politics or whatever urked them at the time. We used to refer to it as the "Old Timers Coffee Corner". They were inseparable and had a great time chatting up a storm, mostly complaining as I recall. Glen, I remember skating in the backyard as a child and you up in the window sketching myself and my friends in charcoal. My thoughts and prayers go out to each of you at this difficult time. Joanne

Margaret, Ian and Family. So sorry to hear of Doug's death. I always intended to drop in and visit Doug when I was in Saint John and truly regret that I did not do that. Doug was a great friend and I will alway cherish the coffee times together and the mug ups at Scout camps. Doug was a great man and friend and will be truly missed. My prayers are with you at this time. God Bless you all and may Doug rest in Peace.

Margaret and Family, We are very sorry for your loss. Doug was always so cheerful when we would meet at various functions. We are seeing the end of a generation of Hamilton's coming to a close.
