Obituary of James "Jim" Wilson
Mr. James Sterling Wilson passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Rocmaura Nursing home on September 6, 2014. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Arnold and Lucy (Robichaud) Wilson and lived all his life in Fairville. Jim served in the Royal Canadian Air force in his youth, and later became Chief Flying Instructor with the Saint John Flying Club, Fundy Flying Club and Calgary Flying Club. He was also involved with the Forest Protection Budworm Spray Program in N.B. Jim was a member of R.C.L Br. #69 and 250 RCAF (Saint John) Wing. He served as Chairman of the Fairville Schools Reunion held in 1989. Jim was a member of Lancaster Baptist Church and later St. Columba Presbyterian Church. He served in both choirs and the Lancaster Ambassadors Men’s Choir. James is survived by his loving wife Donna Wilson (Dickinson); two sons Peter Wilson of Chance Harbour and Mark Wilson (Rialda) of Oakville, ON; two grandchildren Michael Wilson (Lindsay) and Bradley Wilson and two great-grandchildren Kennadie and Zachary Wilson. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 12 noon to 2 pm at Lancaster Baptist Church, 87 Church Ave. West with Funeral Service to follow. Interment to take place in the Church of Good Shepherd Cemetery, Manawagonish Rd. Donations may be made to Lancaster Baptist Church, St. Columba Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimer Society. The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital (CAM Unit 5th Floor) and Rocmaura Nursing Home (Terrace Ct.) for their care and compassion shown to Jim and his family during the past 6 years.
