I was very saddened to hear of Mary’s recent passing. My sincere condolences to the Barry family during this difficult time.
I remember Mary’s free spirit quite well during our school days in Corner Brook. She walked to school most days, and arrived on her own time, which was usually 20 minutes after math class had started!
Our family knew the Barry’s quite well, as almost all the girls went to school with one of my siblings, and our parents were good friends as well.
My thoughts are with Mary’s family, extended family and friends who are grieving at this time.

To all the Barry’s: I’m saddened to hear of Mary’s passing. Only days ago as I drove up the street you lived on I named the families and friends in the houses as the car slipped by. Mary and I started school together at SGS and she joined in our playing Red Rover under the street lights. Oh, the carefree days of our childhood. Cherish the memories. My thoughts are with you all at this time.

It seems that some of us cousins, who have always lived a distance from the Barry family scarcely knew her. Through the beautiful words of this obituary we are now all equipped to capture the essence of Mary Therese Barry. She was blessed with, "a kind and loving heart, an adventurous spirit and the soul of an artist", attributes which we would wish to claim for our own. At this time we offer our heartfelt condolences to family, friends and all who are grieving her loss. Surely Mary has a head start on singing the Easter Alleluia!!!

My heartfelt condolences to the Barry and extended family of Mary on her recent passing. Mary and her family were dear friends growing up on the same road in Corner Brook NL —what seems like a lifetime ago. She and most of her sisters went to school with the kids in our house and we all played together on our road...I still don’t forgive Mary for convincing me to eat a rock...but it was funny I admit! We shared that and other memories when I bumped into her some years back.
Mary was like a butterfly...beautiful and free....flying as she wanted which was nice most of the times...except times like when she was late for school...but it didn’t change her...she always sauntered in the classroom when she got there. She was genuine and funny...a beautiful soul. She will be missed.

I am saddened to hear that Mary has died. I remember her with great fondness as a warm, curious and sensitive young woman who loved life in her own, quiet way. My condolences to all her family.
RIP, sweet soul.
