Hi to everyone,
My goodness, your mother had a long and rich life raising you all, plus doing her church and Gideon work. I hope she enjoyed Kingsway and the activities there. When she was living home ‘I often used to meet her at the grocery store and we would chat. She would always ask how I was feeling. I often looked towards the den in the early evening when my husband and I were on Manawagonish road, only to see the light on, wondering what what she may have been reading. I remember she was a beautiful cook, the aromas after school of supper cooking were scrumptious. I hope the wonderful memories of your early life at home sustain you and the sharing of them amongst yourselves brings forth much laughter and enjoyment.

So sorry to hear of Ruth's passing. My wife and I enjoyed many Gideon meetings and prayer meetings at her home over many years. She was such a gracious host at the Camp meetings, and her big kitchen was a perfect place for those early morning prayer meetings hosted by Hazen. Great memories!

Cheryl, Karen & families, I am so sorry to hear the sad news of your mother's passing. I saw Ruth often while visiting my mother at KWCC over the last 5 years. She had a beautiful smile, she loved the hymns, and seemed such a gentle soul. As I left my mother's room for the last time, just over a month ago, Ruth was sitting in her chair near the nursing station. Seeing her then, that was a comfort to me. My mother had been moved upstairs 3 months earlier, and I didn't know anyone there, and then I saw Ruth. Just the presence of a familiar face gave me comfort as my son and I left the building. I'm sure she didn't have any idea what was happening with me, but I think she would have been pleased to know her presence comforted me.

I have many fond memories of the Cummings family while I served as Senior Pastor (1975-1987) of Lancaster Baptist Church. Hazen was my dentist. Dear Jane, Diane, Karen, Cheryl, Krista, Dwight & Brent,
Your mom has joined the saints that have gone before her.
She will be welcomed by my parents who were always so glad to see her.
Every summer we made the trek to Manawagonish Road. We were always blessed to be in her presence~~~~~
I remember your mom as the most gracious host ever.
There was always room at her table. No one could stretch can of soup like Ruthie.
I remember staying at your house from the time I was young, but especially when my parents were in the hospital. It was so comforting to be there!
Ruthie had a special gift for hospitality. Her love for the Lord was evident to all who met her. 'We are all better for having known her.
May she live on in each of you and your children and grandchildren whose pictures were always covering the doors and cupboards!
I know that memories of her will lift you up when you are missing her. She will always be with you.
With much love, Elaine (Corey) Huntington

Cheryl, Jane,Diane,Karen,Dwight,Krista,Brent and family,
We were saddened to read the obituary for Ruth. We have memories of a distinguished and gracious woman, with a ready smile and a sense of humour. Even in recent years she had the ability to sing familiar hymns, remembering the words and, if someone else took the melody, Ruth sang harmony. We are grateful that Ruth was following the Lord Jesus who said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me though they die yet shall they live." John 11:25 We are remembering you in prayer.

What a legacy Ruth leaves behind for you, her family. As the pastor at Lancaster, and as someone who grew up at Lancaster, Ruth has been missed the last number of years. Always a sweet spirit, a kind word, and overflowing with grace. You have been blessed, as you know, by a great mother, grand mother and great grand mother... Blessings as you celebrate all that she was because of Who's she was. Ruth's trust in Jesus spilled from here like an overflowing well. May that love continue to give you joy in the days, weeks, months and years to come.
