The Scanlon and Kaine families.
Karen and I extend our condolences to you as you celebrate the life and mourn the passing of a remarkable father and grandfather. It was always a pleasure to see Pat on his birthday or Christmas and sit and listen to his stories. He had a lot of history regarding the various major construction projects in Saint John. I think he got a lot of pleasure in recounting the time he played a match against Mary Ellen Driscoll, and even with her, “ pressing the bet” in the early going, he hung in and won the match. He was a true gentlemen and, the legacy of a life well lived, is evident in his exceptional children and their children. One could not ask more of life than Pat Scanlon gave and received. I know the family will take great comfort in the many fond remembrances at this time.

Sorry to hear of Pat's passing but we also salute a life well-lived. Our family also came from Montreal to Saint John (in 1978) when my late father Peter Safford joined Pat at Richard & B.A. Ryan (Atlantic). My first employment came as a summer student during high school and university working for the Ryan company with my Dad and Pat and the late Ed Lewis as well as Mike Sauerteig. They had such a great group of employees and we did many significant projects throughout southern New Brunswick. The Scanlons were wonderful to us and on behalf of my mother Carole and my brother David we offer our sincere condolences to the family.

So sorry to learn of Pat’s passing. My deepest condolences to your family in this difficult time.
Pat hired me in ‘79, fresh out of university to come work for him at Richard &BA Ryan. He was a terrific mentor and role model, always a gentleman, great sense of humour with a big laugh. There are many good memories from those years.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr Scanlons death He was a huge presence in my youth as I was a good friend of (daughters) Pat during our time at Saint Vincents and St FXU, and for years after when I visited the family. Mr Scanlon was often at home in his comfy chair watching sports and cheering on his golf, hockey and I gather gathering his sports stats. He led a long life and will be deeply missed.
Sending my sincere condolences and love on behalf of my husband Jim and myself to Pat, Paul and Mark and their families.
