It was with great sadness that I learned of Willie’s passing. I first met this remarkable man at CFB Chatham in 1970 and was under his care while working in the Orderly Room. He was a fine mentor and boss during the week and an excellent friend outside working hours. He was never without a smile and a joke. We kept in touch for many years after our Chatham years and sadly I lost touch with him after his retirement. He was a great influence on me as with most that had the good fortune of meeting him. This world was a better place with Willie in it and I feel so sad that I did not make a greater effort to search him out after his retirement. Joan and family, please know that many of us share in you loss of this treasured soul and I pass on my most sincere condolences to you. To Willie, rest in peace my friend. You will be missed….til we meet again ‘fair winds and following sea’.

I wish to express my sincere condolence to the entire Munn Family on the passing of my friend Willie Munn. Willie was a man that everyone wished had had his sense of family and how to enjoy life. From the very first time I met him he made me feel comfortable and always welcomed into his home. Always up for a good time with family and friends he ensured that everyone was feed and had a full glass, and he was always up for a good conversation. His passing will leave a huge gap in the community of Nerepis. Willie is with the angels now and we will all meet again. To the Family, I am thinking of you all

So sorry to hear about Willie crossing the bar. He will be remembered by many of his ship mates who worked and sailed alongside him. He was respected by those who served under him and those he served alongside of as well as those who he answered to. I wish to pass on my condolences onto the members of his family and also to the many friends and shipmates that were lucky to have known him.

I heard of your dad's passing with mixed emotions. I am saddened to hear of his passing, but the mere mention of his name brought back many many happy memories of the old days at the old Brunswicker. Those were the times when the ship's company truly felt like an extended family where every antic was relived a hundred times in the messes over glasses of cold beer and rolling laughter. I will always feel happy when I remember him.
