Tom, Amanda, Angela, Mary Anne, James, Emily and Judy. My deepest regrets on your loss. As a childhood friend of Tom’s I have many memories of Jim. My favourite was when he let me sit on his lap and drive up the lane to the cottage. And when my kids (and their friends) got to that age I started letting them drive down the lane to our cottage as well and always thought of The Burns’ family. He was serious when he needed to be and hilariously fun when he could. A great man. I hope you are all doing ok. Jeremy Brennan

Amanda, Judy & Family,
I loved working with Jim! When he retired from the public system and then came to work in the Adult Learning Program was truly a special gift to the learners, teachers, and me. He lifted my spirits on many occasions and always made me smile. His wise words at meetings, his joy and sincerity when he spoke at our graduations, his care and encouragement everyday for his own learners I'll never forget.
May Jim rest in peace, free from pain, and may his memory be a blessing.

This was shocking news. I hadn’t seen Jim in years—(probably @ Assumption) so I was unaware he was so ill.
We tend to lose contact moving in different directions in life plus add a pandemic to the mix and that really isolates us from friends.
Stephen and I send our condolences to Jim’s as well as the entire Burns family.
We’re sure Jim’s caring and goodness is being richly rewarded. A great guy!
