In the late 70's, maybe 11 or 12, my first job was paper carrier, and one of my favorite stops was the Bastarache/Doiron house on Michael Crescent. From day one, I was welcomed as if I were family. There was much banter, good natured jokes, hockey talk, probably baked treats and always a generous tip at Christmas. I may still have a card or two from them. It was only for a few years, but the kindness of Dan and Bernadette (along with the Doirons) made such an impression, I never forgot them. I do hope they are together again.
My condolences to Rheal, Donna, Rose, her sister and the rest of the family. Rest in peace, Bernadette.
