Obituary of Ryan Calder Thompson

Ryan “Red” Calder Thompson passed away accidently on June 1st, 2019. He was born on August 20th, 1980 in Saint John, New Brunswick to Frederick and Lorraine (Janes) Thompson. “Red” was a lifelong resident of Chance Harbour, New Brunswick. His passion in life was hunting, fishing and hockey. He loved his family deeply and was a huge part of his community. He will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He is survived by his daughter Jillian Richard of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, siblings Charlene Thompson and Jared Thompson. He will also be remembered by his biggest fans, nephew Hudson Scaplen, nieces Lila Scaplen and Rylin Sheppard. Aunts & Uncles,Trudy and Barry Bennett of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Greg and Ina Janes of Dipper Harbour, Ronald and Arlyce Thompson of Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, Mary Lou & Charles MacLellan of Saint John. His cousins Scott, Kyle, Brent, Jane, Troy, Joyrell, Tara Lynn, Leticia, Nicholas, Meaghan, Zachary, Rebecca, Jacob and their families. Ryan was a member of the Labourers International Union Local 900 since April 2009. Ryan was also Fisherman for most of his life. He was predeceased by his grandparents Kenneth and Lillian Janes, Ronald and Frances Thompson, and Aunt Muriel (Thompson) Wright. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 6th from 7:00PM-9:00PM and Friday, June 7th from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 7:00PM-9:00PM. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 8th at 11:00AM in Castle “Fallsview Chapel. Interment will follow in Chance Harbour Cemetery, with a reception to follow at Fundy Bay 50 Plus Club.
