Thank you to all who have posted condolences and or memories of our mother. She would be humbled by your kind words, and honored that she left an impact on your lives, and gave you collectively, so many fond (fun-filled) memories. She and Dad were happiest when friends and family gathered at their home, especially at the cottage at Cap Lumière, where they spent decades making memories with so many! Mom will be deeply missed by all of us. Love to you all.

Moonyeen was like a 2nd mom to me as well as being a close friend over the years. We would get together on St. George street to play cards or have a great meal and also spent lots of time with her and Regis at Cap lumiere. Jane and I and my children will always keep her in our hearts. Rick ,Jane, William, Nick and Melanie.

Condolences to Moonyeen’s children & immediate family...she was certainly an inspiring individual. I enjoyed meeting her in the 70’s and visiting in Saint John, N. B. and at that marvellous Cape locale. Sympathies to the Staples family for their loss...I’m sure that she will not be soon forgotten...a very special person!

I got to know your lovely mother through visiting my own, Joy Keith at Shannex. Your mom was so sweet and I always stopped to talk to her when I went to see my mom. Mooney had such a lovely smile, and was always so happy to have a chat, or a laugh. I know my mom will miss her, she was so fond of her tablemate and friend. If your mom was in the hallway when I was leaving I used to give her I used to give her a kiss on the forehead. I’m so sorry for your loss, I could see how much her family loved her.

I got to know Moonyeen when my own mother(Doreen Thompson) was a resident of Shannex. She and mom became friends as they shared their meals together and more than a few good laughs. They often looked to each other to brighten their day. I have thought of her often since my mother passed away and am sorry to read of her passing. She was a wonderful lady and I am happy I got to know her ,if only ,for a short time. My condolences to the family .

First, my sincerest condolence to all Moon’s children and family. I have no words to express the love I have not only for Moon but Regis as well. I feel extremely blessed to have been able to be a part of their lives and to create a bond that even death won’t take away. Just looking at Regis would put a smile on my face and Moon, no matter the day, would fill my heart with love. After Regis passed, I got to know Moon more and my love, respect and appreciation for her grew. We spent countless hours talking, laughing, sharing secrets, crying, holding hands, hugging, and at times, all at the same time!!! If ever I was having a blue day, I’d go see Moon. If ever I had news to share, I’d go see Moon…..there were even times I went to see Moon just to tell her how great I thought she was and that I loved her. Moon was the kind of person that if you didn’t love her…there had to be something wrong with you. It was also easy to feel the love that others had for her. If she wasn’t talking on the phone, she was visiting with someone. This truly is a sad time for those she has left behind and I will miss her dearly but my sad heart can’t help but feel joy for her and Regis…..while our hearts may be broken- theirs are now mended. I will forever think fondly of your mom and dad and when I do, I know a smile will cross my face and my heart will be filled with love xxoo Andrea xxoo

To all the family -I am sincerely sorry for your huge loss. My feelings about your Mom never wavered over the years. I saw her as a warm kind woman who loved her children dearly. My only wish is that I 'd had the privilege of spending more time with her. Now memories will bring you even closer as the bonds between you become stronger -unbreakable. Moonyeen is at peace and with the loved ones who have preceded her and you will one day be with her again. My sincere love goes out to all of you. You were truly blessed. I love this poem --I hope the words give some comfort to you all I’m Free by Shannon Lee Moseley Don’t grieve for me, for now, I’m free. I’m following the path God has chosen for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call; I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way; I’ve found now peace at the end of the day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss; Oh yes, these things, I too will l miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, look for the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I savored much; good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seems all too brief; don’t lengthen your time with undue grief. Lift up your heart and peace to thee, God wanted me now – He set me free.
