Miss Cameron was my Grade 1 teacher in 1962. She was one of my favourite teachers and was one of the best teachers I had. She was also very good friends with my aunt, Miss Stackhouse, and I think they travelled together on many vacations. I am sad to hear of her passing. Please accept my condolences.

I wish to express my condolences to Jean’s family. I remember her so well from CFUW meetings, and in particular the Travel Club. I always enjoyed seeing Jean and having a chat with her.

Stephanie and Adrian - so sorry to hear about Jean. I remember her coming to your parents house in the Gardens with your grandfather - so many years ago. She was such a lady.

I saw Miss Cameron a few years back at the Bulk Barn. She came over to meet my husband and have a chat about the old days at Barnhill.Even though she had not been my grade one teacher, I often would run in to her with her fellow teacher friends through the years. You had a lovely Aunt who was a dedicated teacher through and through.

I always made a point to speak to Jean at the CFUW meetings, she was a gracious and lovely lady and we would talk about travel and in later years Bridge. She enjoyed her Bridge and when she was hostess her lunch was exceptional as she liked to bake. My condolences to her family and know that she will be sadly missed. Doris Chesley

I have been blessed with the time with having my great aunt in my life. Wasn't till I was older that we got to spend time together. The visits and chats we had over that time I will cherish always. She loved coming for lunch and visiting especially after having my son. She had brought him over many books she enjoyed when teaching. He enjoyed her reading them to him at times also. Love and miss you always Great Aunt Jean. RIP

When I was a little girl, Jean would take me with her to her multi grade one-room school house where she would prepare lessons for the coming week while I got to sit on a tall stool and draw on the blackboard. I thought this was great! In later years, she and I took many trips to far away places. It was nice to have an aunt who was older in years but not in spirit.

My thoughts are with you. Knowing Jean through her work with retired teachers (NBSRTSJ) was a joy. She never failed to contribute and was always kind, thoughtful and and gracious. There was never a time when I spoke with her, either in person or by phone, that she did not ask about my well-being. Her love of animals was obvious and she never failed to ask about my dog by name. May your memories provide comfort and support.

I just wanted to give my condolences to Jean’s family. My sister rents the downstairs apartment in Jean’s house, so that is how I got to meet her a few years ago. Jean was a very kind, lovely lady, and she especially loved it when I would bring my dog Angus up to visit with her. He would just lay down at her feet, and she just loved that. I’m so glad to have known her, even for a little while.

It was with much sadness that we heard of Jean's passing. She was a great supporter of the New Brunswick Society of Retired Teachers Saint John Branch and served as the Card Committee Chair for decades. A true "gentlewoman" in both senses. She will be missed. Barry Harbinson on behalf of NBSRT SJ
