Dave was the ultimate team-ster. He came to work with us at Coastal Business Machines and his first order of business was that we all dressed as a team, haha. So we all got work uniform shirts. I was reminded of him this morning as I put on my work shirt and thought I'd look for him. We are saddened to discover his passing and offer our sympathies to those who loved him. I have many great memories of David, from him literally taking his Minnesota Twins t-shirt off his back so I could cover my burnt shoulders as he entertained us on the deck with his witty humour and impressions, to helping plan your 50th surprise party and he & I ganging up on you while we baked Christmas treats. So many special interactions with Davey, and I always managed to leave your home with a kiss and "take care pal". He always made me feel special and loved, a part of the family. I'll miss your smile and hearty laugh Pal. I know David knew that we, your friends would always be here for you when he no longer could be. It breaks my heart as your friend and family that I cannot physically be with you and hug you fiercely while you mourn your love. Luckily we have a great track record of talking on the phone <3 Love you my friend <3

Sad and shocked by David's passing. My 1st memory of David was that of a 5 year old, walking on skates, stick in hand, wearing a Habs sweater, past our house at 93 Rodney and heading to the rink on Market Place. This is where he began to develop the athletic skills that made him so successful on both the ice and the ball diamond. My brother, David, and Bruno were great pals. We will all miss him. My condolences to his wife and family. RIP ..

To David's family I send my deepest sympathies. David was a life long friend of mine. We grew up playing ball and hockey together before we played in organized leagues. It was called Limey land in the old days. I was 3 days older than David, it was the only thing I could brag about and hold over him as he was one of the best natural talented athletes I've ever seen. I will miss him and his sense of humor...Gord LeBlanc

I wanted to thank you for letting me walk through Boston with all that mustard over my forehead from that "Fenway Sausage ", and I was wondering what you were laughing about. Oh, we had some good times. Sebago Lake every summer will never be forgotten, and the Oh so graceful "Tube Flips" that Sharon performed. I am going to miss our phone calls every second night, you know, the ones when we told each other how good we were. I love you partner, and I am hurting. Catch you on the Flipside

Sharon I am so sorry we could not be there for you in person but we are with you in thoughts and prayers As David was only 1 year older than I so my fondest memory when we were probably 7 and 8 and we were outside playing Cowboys and Indians , David says he shot me so I had to fall down I was up on the top of the fence and refused to do so . So up he comes and pushes me off on the way down I caught my leg on a nail and had to get 20 stitches. When he was getting yelled at by Nanny he just kept saying Well she should have died when I shot her. RIP Uncle David .Give hugs and kisses to Nanny ,Grampy and Mom and Dad,Love You

Oh Sharon I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s a loss for all of us in the Westside. My first meeting with David was many years ago for the Carleton Community Center reunion. I was nominated to help spearheaded the weekend so I had the opportunity to meet and make plans with David. We had so many laughs never any arguments. Because of my involvement in Assumption church and maybe I was bossy he nicknamed me Sr. Agnes. So no matter when or where I bumped into him I was always Sr. Agnes. Mike my husband ( works at Walmart tech dept) saw David most days on his walks and had several chats. We are sadly going to miss David and send out condolences to you

I would see Dave usually 3 or 4 times a week on his daily walk-correction-stroll-around the lancaster mall. As a fellow walker we usually walked at the same time-meet by chance-talk old time and even the future. He had a pet nickname for me Sharon-Rambo-I have no idea where he got it but for the last 20 years that was my name when we met-I loved it-Bruno and Rambo-I will miss wit his charm and his laugh-and his words when we would part as walkers-See ya Ram--See ya Bruno-Great friend !!

Sharon, it is with great sadness that I learned of David's passing. As an athlete, a character and just an incredible guy I cannot add any more than others have said already. That is other than my heart breaks for you and those we know who were very close to him. My respect for David started very young when my Dad (Ken Trainor) used to take me to watch him with the old Carleton teams. I remember Dad telling me to "Watch this guy, he is the most natural player I have ever seen in my life". I did, and over the years I got to know him and then I got the honor to play and catch for him and the respect I had as a small boy only grew. He was without a question a very special and talented guy in many ways. I will never forget him waiting in the parking lot at the funeral home when my brother died just to say hi to me and my family. I introduced him and told this story to our boys. I know that this story meant a lot to him coming from my Dad, and he told me so over the years a number of times. But it was not a story, it was simply the truth. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Sharon. And to Bruno, Rest-in-Peace and God Bless our friend. <3

There are no words to describe this pain and loss. However, there are not enough words to describe this Fun, Loving, Remarkable, man. You cannot think of David and NOT smile! Didn't matter if you were discussing sports, news, weather or Sharon's quirky use of words, he was the funniest guy. With a twinkle in his eyes, heart as big as the moon and a smile as bright as the sun, he lit up a room wherever he went. He could turn any mood or situation into a one night stand at Yuk-Yuk's. We'll never forget our uncontrollable laughs and giggles over Sharon's "Vancouver time" and moaning over "9 bucks". However, all of his attributes are no comparison to his huge and undying love for Sharon. He will be missed by many for a very long time but he will be joyfully celebrated forever....xoxo
