My sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to the entire James family on the passing of your patriarch, George. Although I didn't know George well, the exchanges I had with him were always pleasant and light-hearted. I do have a great memory (awful actually) of him scoring a goal on me in pick-up hockey at the LBR about 10-12 years ago; He came across the blue-line and lobbed a high shot in my direction which eluded me (it was the lights!). Unlike how mercilessly he could've razzed me (like his boys Dwayne, Kevin and Jeff did!), he was good about it and just gave me a little wink and tap on the pads. This small gesture spoke volumes to me about his fine character. Rest in peace, George.

Please accept our prayers and sincerest condolences for George and his family. Being a Red Sox and Habs fan myself, I had an automatic in with George. However, my favorite memory of George was him donating his James Towing truck so that a gang of longshoremen and myself could load and unload frozen food for Romero House. On another occasion, I called George to haul up some trailers from the port to be used as stages for a church picnic. George himself and his truck were there in no time flat to again donate the services of his business. George was a hardworking, kind and caring man. Our community is going to miss him dearly. His family and friends will miss him even more. God Bless All.

I am the youngest of the Richardson family from Lancaster Ave but I clearly remember crossing paths with all the James boys at the Beaconsfield hockey rink. George was a great player and a great person. I have fond memories of knowing Billy,Wayne and Doug as well. Sporting life and social life would have been diminished if the James family weren’t involved in the WestSide. My condolences to the family of George. He lived a full and productive life.
