I just want to convey my sincere condolences to the Bogle children as well as the rest of the Bogle family. I consider her daughter Sharon a dear friend and I am so pleased that with her help I was able to get to know her mom so much better than I did growing up. She was quite a lady, full of energy and spice. I was marveled by her astuteness even as her health was failing. She could really see things as they were, many a time, and did not hesitate to express herself. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I was able to spend with Barbara Bogle; I loved the piano playing and the singing : Talents she so willingly shared with everyone; my life is that much richer because of her.

As the cousin of my late mother Winifred, Barbara will be remembered with great affection by her extended family here in Yorkshire. My mother used to tell of Barbara’s service in WW2 and of her meeting Basil. It is a favourite and cherished story in our family history and has been passed down to the younger members. Her marriage in 1945 to a handsome young Canadian and the deep love that led her to travel so many thousands of miles away from home to make a new life and begin her own family history is awe inspiring. What a brave, determined and remarkable lady and mother she must have been. With fond memories we send our deepest condolences and sympathies to all. With love from family in Yorkshire.

My heart is breaking for your loss. Keira Rose and I are going to miss seeing her on our weekly visits to Ridgewood. Barbara would sit on the edge of her bed with Keira Rose beside her with her head in her lap. Barbara would snuggle and pet Keira Rose while we chatted about different things. I heard about her coming over from England on the boat, her life in England, dogs she had in her life, raising her children, stories about her grandchildren, knitting and anything else that came to mind. She would always ask me what was for supper and I would always forget to look at the board and see what it was. That became a standing joke between us. I am going to miss her but will cherish the memories I have. Kim and Keira Rose (Therapy Dog)
