Obituary of James Douglas Patrick Sullivan
It is with broken hearts the family announce the passing of James Douglas Patrick Sullivan on Wednesday January 22, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, N.B., on October 26, 1945, James was a son of the late Albert Sullivan and Verna (Fleet) Sullivan, and beloved husband of Margaret Linda “Ann” (Arsenault) Sullivan.
James started as a Pipefitter with Irving Oil Refinery, then he was a plumber with the DVA Hospital and then worked the Saint John Regional Hospital where he retired from. In his retirement, he worked along side his son Steven at Cyber Solutions.
James is survived by his wife; Margaret Linda “Ann” Sullivan, two sons; Steven Sullivan of Saint John, and Kelvin (Yvette) Sullivan, of Saint John, six grandchildren; Cory (Emma), Natalie, Savanah, Danielle, Katerina (Anthony) and Travis (Stephanie), six great grandchildren; Liam, Emory, Sawyer, Levi, Ivy, and Abby, one brother; Willie Sullivan, of Newfoundland, four sisters; Theresa (David) Rakum, of England, Verna McDonnough, of Dartmouth, N.S., Beverley Sullivan, of Lunenburg, N.S., and Sylvia Sullivan, of Halifax, N.S., many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his canine companion,Cocoa.
James was predeceased by his parents; Albert and Verna three brothers; Nelson Sullivan, Gordon Sullivan, and Johnny Sullivan, two sisters; Lorraine Sullivan, and Diane Sullivan, and brother – in - law; Greg McDonnough
The arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506 634 1701). As per James wishes cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Monday January 27, 2025, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Castle Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Greenwood Cemetery.
