Obituary of Blake Simpson Lambert

Blake Simpson Lambert passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Bobby’s Hospice, surrounded by his family. Blake was born on July 28, 1941 in Saint John, NB. He was the only child of the late Albert and Winnifred (Conley) Lambert.

Blake will be sadly missed by his wife of 55 years, Faye (LeBlanc) Lambert, their children; Dr. Todd Lambert (April), Heather Lambert (Nicholas), and Lori Lambert (Andrew), grandchildren; Adam Lambert, Andrew Lambert, Ben Lambert, Nate Jensen and Sam Jensen, special cousin, Tammy Bostwick – Wells, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents Blake was predeceased by his aunt Alberta (“Auntie”), his father’s twin sister.

Blake grew up on Deer Island where he fished with his father, before starting his 33-year career at NB Tel. Even with his full time job, he continued to help his father build his herring weirs and fished them for many years, even after his father passed. Besides joining his local Lancaster Kiwanis club, after his retirement Blake volunteered with the Westside Food Bank for 25 years, where he also served as President. He often remarked that this was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding times of his life, working with wonderful people and helping those in need.

His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. Blake and Faye spent many years following the kids around to their sports and activities. Blake enjoyed bowling with Faye and going on road trips together to Maine and New Hampshire.  Blake’s nickname at home was “MacGyver”; he could fix anything with his ingenuity.

The family would like to thank their neighbours and friends for providing wonderful support, especially Christa Melvin, Lise and Dan Doiron. They would also like to thank Dr. David Bewick and staff at the Heart Function Clinic, Dr. Neil Young, Extra Mural (Sarah, Heidi, Karen and staff), and the staff and volunteers of Bobby’s Hospice for your kindness and care given to Blake, as well as making things easier for our family.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 1:00 PM at St. Mark’s United Church, 50 Dexter Drive, Saint John,  with reception to follow. Interment will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later time. In lieu of flowers donations in Blake’s memory can be made to Bobby’s Hospice, Westside Food Bank or Extra Mural.
