My fondest memories of my Grandmother were at Christmas we would make the trek from Montreal to Saint John by train and Grampie or aunt Barb would pick us up at the station then Christmas morning I would here that fateful sound coming from their room at 1:30 am Bob don’t you dare wake those kids up at this hour. We would be up for hours opening up our presents at 1:45am then wake up our parents in the process. Memories now are all we have but good memories that will last a lifetime. God bless you who celebrate her life with us and bless my Saint John family who have borne the brunt of my Grandmothers care along with my mother Dawn. Though the sorrow may last for the night joy comes in the morning; another Saint has gone home. Fr. Carl Baxter

My dear Aunt and Godmother, the times I spent with you and conversations we had are indelibly etched in my heart. Our fadge lunches and dinners are some of my favourite memories. I'm very sorry that your immediate family kept us apart in your final years. My mother and her sister would and was deeply disturbed by your families efforts to keep us apart.
I remember fondly going up the Victoria Steps to you and Uncle Bob's apartment to have lunch with you and my mother. He used to tease me to tears and when I would speak back, I was told "not to be bold".
I am deeply sorry that I was unable to visit with you in your final years and my mother who died 35 days shy of her 100th birthday was heartbroken that she wasn't allowed to visit with her sister in her final days.
May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God Rest in Peace.

I am Lillian’s oldest granddaughter. I knew her lovingly as Grammie.
I have so many wonderful memories, spending time with my Gram and Grampie when visiting Saint John and in later years, with Gram and Jack.
My brother and I grew up outside of the Maritimes, but that did not hinder being connected with our Grammie. We were very loved and maybe even a little spoiled.
My Gram was an amazing cook and homemaker. We could always count on enjoying a batch of her delicious homemade potato fadge for lunch during our visits. Her homemade apple pie was like no other.
Gram was a talented knitter. She was especially talented at making beautiful afghans. Many family members have benefited from receiving her beautifully crafted afghans, even some of her great-grandchildren.
When I was about 8, she knit my brother and I toques for Christmas with our names on them. I loved that hat.
Also, shortly after arriving in Saint John for visits, Grammie would be busy knitting me a pair of slippers with pom poms on them so I would have slippers to wear around the house…every time and well into my adulthood.
My Gram loved good old-fashion fun. Memories of grocery cart racing through the aisles of Sobeys or dancing to The Beach Boys records playing on her HIFI come to mind. She had great rhythm.
My Gram loved the warmth of the sun and would look forward to day trips to New River Beach (Robert broke the airplane) and vacations on Prince Edward Island. When I was 14, I went on a bus trip with Gram to Campebello, just her and I. It was so special.
My Gram was tons of fun and very loving. She lived a long life. Many will comment on her reaching centenarian status, but I will remember the ways she loved and cared for me.

When I was in high school I worked with Lil at Towers. She was so smart. She could tell people how much fabric they needed without looking at a pattern. I still remember her saying how much material was needed for a long skirt, a short skirt, long sleeves or short sleeves... Her department was run very efficiently and she was good to work with. Please accept my condolences on your loss.

I have fond memories of your mom from when I started selling her Avon over 30 years ago. She and Jack were still living in Martinon then and I followed them back into good old Fairville when they made the move. When my Godchild was a resident at the manor, I was sitting in the dining room with her one night when I noticed this lady across the room staring at me intently. Lo and behold it was your mom. I waved and she lit up like a Christmas tree because I recognized her. I always thought she had beautiful, kind eyes. My condolences. L.

An era ends with Lillian's passing...I have decades of great memories of her. She was all that is said: witty, fun to be around, hard-working, dedicated to her family. Thinking of all who will be missing her, and treasuring their special memories of her.
