Obituary of Stephen Andrew Kelly
Stephen Andrew Kelly died tragically on January 14, 2025, doing what he loved most, spending time in the great outdoors with his best friend Judy Foss. Stephen was born on August 8, 1958 in Saint John, NB to the late Robert and Joan (Russell) Kelly.
Stephen spent his career at the City of Saint John in the Public Works Department, where he earned the nickname “snake” due to him making a hissing sound when he laughed.. He retired 11 years ago, so he no longer had to cross the bridge to go East. He was true, life-long Westsider.
Stephen loved everything outdoors; boating, fishing, hunting, ATVing, snowmobiling. He made sure to have every outdoor toy so he could enjoy the outdoors to the fullest. He had many great adventures over the years. Stephen was also very particular about certain things, and anyone who knew him, knew this about him. He also had a very dry sense of humour.
He will be dearly missed by his sister Jill Kelly, nieces; Jasmine and Kelsey Veinot, cousins, and many dear friends. In addition to his parents Stephen was predeceased by his special dog Nicholas, and girlfriend Judy Foss.
Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. A Graveside Service will be held in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery for both Stephen and Judy on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in Stephen’s memory can be made to the SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choice. There will be a reception held at the Denis Morris Community Centre following the internment and the families would to thank the generosity of the community for their kindness during this time.
