Obituary of Susan Mary Bastarache
It is with broken hearts the family announce the passing of Susan Mary Bastarache on Wednesday January 8, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a period of failing health. Born in Saint John, N.B. on April 22, 1969, Susan was a daughter of the late Donald Joseph Bastarache and Ursula Mary (Hebert) Bastarache, and companion of Dave Niles.
Susan was always closest family first. When she would go out, she could talk to a stranger like they knew each other forever
Susan is survived by her son; Brandon Samuel Donald Nicholas Bastarache, of Saint John, two brothers; Paul (Jeanne) Bastarache, of Rothesay, Merle Boucher, of Saint John, nieces; Jennifer (Anthony Campbell) Bastarache, and their children; Julia, Sophia, Logan and Liam, Courtney (Paul) Ryan, and their daughter; Aurora, of Quispamsis, and Cindy Groundwater, and her daughter; Amelia.
Susan was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Ursula Bastarache, one brother; John Louis Bastarache
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506 634 1701). A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Castle Funeral Home from 10:00am to 12:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at Castle ‘Fallsview” Chapel at 12:00pm. Interment will take place in the spring of 2025 at St. Augustine’s Cemetery.
