Obituary of Loretta Rogers

Loretta Rogers passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025 at Bobby’s Hospice surrounded by loved ones. Loretta was born on June 21, 1940 in Tignish, Prince Edward Island to the late Ovide ‘Joe’ and Emilda ‘Millie’ (Perry) Martin.

Loretta loved music especially blue grass and old country music, she also enjoyed playing crib.

Loretta will be dearly missed by her children; Kenneth Gordon (Dian) of Lakeville, NB, Larry  Gordon (Anna) of Winnipeg, MB, Dale Gordon of Leduc, AB, Mike Gordon (Tracey) of Calmar, AB, Joanne Gallant of Calmar, AB, and Bonnie Byers (Mark) of Saint John, NB, brother Tilman Martin (Pat) of Nova Scotia, sisters; Bernadette Cormier (Vic) of Nova Scotia, Anita Doucette of Prince Edward Island, Carol Caissie (Alfred) of Prince Edward Island, and Christine Furlong (Wayne) of Rothesay, NB,  15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Loretta was predeceased by her husband David Rogers, brothers Leo and Jerry Martin, and grandchildren Adam Gordon and Marissa Gordon.

The family would like to extend a special thank you the Emergency staff at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Oncology Department, 5AS, Extra Mural and Bobby’s Hospice for their exceptional care and kindness to our mother.  We would also like to thank her wonderful friend and companion Stan Curran.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Keeping with Loretta’s wishes cremation has taken place, and no service will be held. In lieu of flowers donations in Loretta’s memory can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
