Obituary of Raymond Morris Green
Safe in the arms of Jesus……
Raymond Morris Green passed away peacefully December 23, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born September 19, 1931 in Bear River, NS. It gives us great joy to know he is in heaven with our Lord and Saviour, whom he loved.
Ray loved life, and thanked God daily for how richly blessed he was. He was blessed to be married to Frances Mae (Hoyt) for 46 years, and Patsy (Allison) for 23 years.
Ray will be lovingly remembered by his wife Patsy, daughter Julie (Green) Janes (Bruce), daughter in law Sharon (Sheppard) Green: five adored grandchildren, Jason (Laura) Janes, Christopher Janes (Becky), David (Laura) Janes, Natalie Green (Sarah), and Rachael Green (Duncan); six precious great-grandchildren, Amelia, Landen, Orla, Georgia, Emmery Janes, and Vivian Fraser. He dearly loved his youngest brother Gregory Green (Christine) (aka Butch and Bonnie), his sister Joan Mitchell, several nieces and nephews. His extended family included, Patsy’s daughter, Shelly Hare (Carman), daughter in law Jacquline Clancy Allison, grandchildren; Allison McEvoy, Ashley Hare, Riley Allison, Sydney (Aiden) Van Egmond, and Hailey Allison, great grandchildren; Finn, Sophia, Madilyn, Grayson and Weston.
Besides his parents (Samuel and Joyce), he was predeceased by his first wife Frances, son Derrick, sister Frances, brother Edward, and Patsy’s son Gordie Allison.
Prior to his retirement June 1987, Ray was employed with Canadian National Railway as a Locomotive Engineer for 37 years. He loved his job so much that he said he never worked a day in his life! Ray lived in Chomedey, Laval (Que.) most of his life, it is where he met Frances, raised his family and spent his rewarding career with CN Rail. After his retirement Ray moved to Maces Bay, which he called “ Florida of the east coast”! Ray happily spent 34 winters in Cocoa Beach, Florida, where he made countless friendships and memories. He loved the sun, warm weather and golfing!
Once Ray met Patsy, they relocated to Miramichi, but still made sure they spent their winter down south. Ray made special memories with his children in the younger years, and more so after he retired and moved to Maces Bay. He especially enjoyed spending time with grandchildren. Ray was able to share the joy of golfing with his daughter Julie. Ray proudly walked the golf course until he was 85. Ray was a true joy to be around, he had a very kind heart and soul.
Always thinking of others, what he could do and how to help them. He always was there to lend a hand; his true focus was serving God and others. Everyday he said, everything is well! His life verse was Proverbs 3: 5 and 6….Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.
