Obituary of Mary Evelyn McLaughlin
It is with great sadness the family of Mary Evelyn McLaughlin announce her passing on Monday, November 4, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by her children. Mary was born on February 27, 1954, in Saint John, NB to the late Thomas and Helen (Wooden) McLaughlin. Mary is survived by her children; Ryan Lanteigne, Meghan Lanteigne (Robert Foster) and Jill Lanteigne (Robert Hamilton), sisters; Helen Murray (Jimmy) and Kathy McLaughlin, nieces; Tricia Murray-d’Eon, Debbie McLaughlin and Cindy Langley, nephews; Kevin Murray (Rachel) and Edgar McLaughlin and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her brother Edgar McLaughlin, and sister Patty McLaughlin.
Mary was a talented artist that loved to depict the beautiful world around her, especially nature. Using watercolor, acrylic, sculpture and photography, she enjoyed making art with her children and encouraged them to draw and experience the world around them. Mary was an excellent cook and loved to garden, listen to music, playing cribbage with her children, and walking on her favorite beach, Bayshore Beach; looking for sea glass. Mary will be remembered for her unique sense of humor, tenacity and her love of laughter. She will be dearly missed.
Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3. 506-634-1701. In keeping with Mary’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.ca
