Obituary of Margaret Marie Gamble
It is with broken hearts that the family of Margaret Marie Gamble announces her passing on Monday, November 3 2024 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Margaret was "newfie" born on January 14, 1942 in Bishop Falls NFLD to the late Stella Carpenter.
Margaret will be greatly missed by her devoted husband of 50 years, Ken Gamble, and their beautiful daughter Tara Gamble (Jamie). She also leaves behind her furry grandbabies Ripp and Jagger, and her beloved Newfoundland family who she spoke of often and looked forward to weekly phone chats.
Margaret worked for many years as a Pharmacy Tech at Shoppers Drug Mart on Charlotte Street connecting with everyone she met. Once she retired, she discovered her true calling; caring for children, she loved babysitting. She was affectionately given the name "Margie" by the kids who she loved and cared for as her own.
Margaret and Ken had many special adventures together over the years; Friday night dates, dancing at the Roller Tech to Donny and the Monarch’s, Wednesday night bowling league in KV, vacations spent at Sebago Lake, shopping trips to Halifax and Maine, and summer visits to Newfoundland to see family. Margaret especially enjoyed her shopping trips with her daughter Tara to New Hampshire, where they were unstoppable.
Margaret loved animals, and her fur grandbabies always held a special place in her heart. She would always ask "how's ‘Rippy’ and ‘Jagger’ are they playing ball today?' and her special cats Freckles and Coach who she will now be reunited with. Margaret would also always ask about Jamie, 'how was he doing and any new projects he was working on?'
The family would like to thank all the nurses and support staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital specifically the GEM Unit 5th Floor, and 7th Floor, Dr. Wilson and Dr. Alison Rodger, for all your kindness and compassion. Giselle & Patty who helped cared for mom at home. Kate in activities and all the ladies who became Marg's protectors and friends; you all made Mom smile everyday she was there and for that we are eternally grateful. Special thank you to nurse Tammy for staying with Tara and guiding her through the last moments, It will never be forgotten.
