Obituary of Miles Jay Leigh Wellwood

It is with broken hearts and great sadness that the family of Miles Jay Leigh Wellwood announce his passing which occurred on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born to beloved parents, Basil George Wellwood and Judith Gallant Thibodeau, in Saint John on January 8 th,1975, at the old Saint John General Hospital.

Miles worked for many years as cook and it was passion of his. In his spare time, he enjoyed biking, fishing, watching sports and was a dedicated Philadelphia Flyers fan. He loved playing pool with his buddies and was known to many as Willie. He was a true Westsider for life and always argued that the Westside is the best side. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him but especially by his closest friends; Andrew, Peter, Ryan, Gary, girlfriend Tracey and of course
his dog Scarlet and cat Poopie.

Along with his parents, Miles is survived by one brother; Stephen Wellwood, two sisters; Sherri (Mike) LeBlanc, and Nikki (Andrew) Wellwood, nephews and nieces; Alexander, Monique, Jaden, Ella, Sophie and Tori.

The family wishes to recognize all the nurses, doctors and volunteers on 4B south and in the Palliative Care Unit for all their hard work.

The arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506 634 1701).
