Obituary of Hughleen Marie Long

Hughleen Marie (Gass) Long passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by her family. Hughleen was born on July 13, 1934 in York Mills, NB to the late Oswald and Elizabeth (Swan) Gass.

Hughleen will be dearly missed by her daughters; Judy McLaughlin (Norman) and Susan Long, granddaughter Meagan Long and special cousin Ruth Collicott.

In addition to her parents, Hughleen was predeceased by her husband Douglas John Long (1995).

Hughleen loved dancing, bingo, country music and shopping trips to Bangor with her girls.

The family would like to thank the Saint John Regional Hospital Emergency Department, Palliative Care and Internal Medicine physicians and nurses for their exceptional care and kindness.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. A Private Graveside Service will be held in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Hughleen’s memory can be made to Bobby’s Hospice or a charity of the donor’s choice.
