Dear June, Bill & family;
We are saddened to hear of Joe's passing. You have our deepest condolences. I have great memories of Uncle Carl, Alice, Joe, Bill, & Mary. We planned on being at the wake , but life had other plans for us.
Joe and Bill taught me& my brothers how to play crib and kept us 4 boys as quiet and entertained during our grandmothers wake at the house that last at least 4 days.
Shortly after Bid Joe and June were married , they came to Chatham to visit my parents, and I was practicing my Flynn humor. Well Big Joe grabbed me by one hand and lifted my a few inches off the floor, just to let me know that he could handle any mischief I was thinking of doing. Now I was around age 15 and weighed about 160 lbs. June came to my rescue and told Big Joe to put me down. I behave better after that.
He are sending a mass card to June.
Love Ed & Laura Lee Kenny

Although I have been in the states for many years we always had nice conversations when we would see each other mainly at Westfield Golf.

June and family:
I knew Joe in my teens when I would be driving my younger brother to hockey games and practices. When I returned to the Saint John area in 2004 Joe and I met many times waiting to tee off at Westfield. I worked with him on the Westfield board for many years and he always got things done when needed. The thing I enjoyed the most were his stories about the Westside, sports and his family.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and Westfield will not be the same without him.

Dear June and family. I was sorry to hear the loss of Joe. He was a wonderful man with always a smile bigger than life. You and Joe were like family to me. You were mom’s best friend for 50 some years. You two will always and forever hold a special place in my heart. Back in 2000 you both took me in when I needed a place to stay for 4 months. I always loved hugging Joe for he was so tall and gave the best hugs. I hope mom was there when he arrived. They have so much to catch up on. You both raised three handsome sons and a few dogs. Joe, always made me feel special. Thank you for letting me be a part of your family. I love you June and your boys and I loved you too Joe.

Condolences to the Flynn family. I had several opportunities working with “Big Joe” on CFL, Venue SJ & Canada Games committees. When Joe came knocking on doors, everyone stepped up knowing his sports passion was important. I enjoyed a Myrtle Beach golf trip with Joe & his buddies- full of stories. Fun Westfield golf rounds with Joe, Hamish & Pat. Obviously his obituary shows his huge impact on his appreciative community.

So sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. I was privileged to have golfed with Joe along with Hamish,Paul,Peter and Rene on Saturdays.
We all did our best to try to outdo the others,not so much with our golf but with our handing out of insults which at times came fast and furious.No one was spared.Joe did his best to keep us under control but usually to little or to no avail. He did seem to manage to always get the last word in though.
I would be remiss in not saying how proud Joe was of his family. He spoke of you often and in the fondest way.Although I have known Joey for some time it seems like I know most of your family.
Joe will be missed by all who knew him

To June , Carl , Greg , Joe jr and their families. I remember walking down Dever Road as a boy to watch Joe play ball at the old Veterans Memorial Recreational field. He was really something to see on the field or in the batters box , great ball player. He was impressive on the ice playing hockey in the Lancaster Centennial Arena as well.In the early 1980's, Joe asked me if I would be willing to coach one of the teams in the Lancaster Little League. I was given a team in the senior little league division , that team had 2 of Joe's sons , Carl and Greg, on it. We stayed together going up through midget , juvenile and finally junior. Joe was always there to help me with anything the team needed. Always a great fan to have in the stands. I don't think anyone else ever did as much for amateur sport in Lancaster as "Big Joe Flynn" He will be deeply missed. My most sincere condolences to Joe's family. Rest In Peace Joe.
