Obituary of Joseph Raymond Roy
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joseph Raymond Roy announce his passing on Sunday, March 31st, 2024 at the Moncton Hospital. Raymond was born on May 29th, 1952 in Moncton, NB to the late Alphé and Ethel Roy (Duncan).
Raymond will be dearly missed by his wife of 47 years, Jane Roy (Thibodeau), children; Joseph Roy (Rachelle), Adam Roy (Chantille) and Jessica McLaughlin (Brian), grandchildren; Dalyla, Mateo, Matteo, Grayson, Wyatt, and Eliana, sister Stella Roy, sisters in law Erni and Evelyne Roy, fur grandbabies; Mika and Arlo, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his siblings; Helen, George, Paul, and Daniel Roy, and his parents in law, Ken and Kathy Thibodeau.
Raymond owned and operated Friends Café and Convenience with his wife Jane for 37 years.
Raymond enjoyed playing cards; particularly cribbage, and collecting coins. He was an avid sports fan, his favorite team being the Toronto Blue Jays. He also loved NHL hockey. Raymond played the drums and loved listening to all kinds of music. He loved travelling with his wife, especially to Jasper and Calgary, and he enjoyed taking photos of their adventures. Most of all, Raymond loved his children and his family. He truly cherished them.
Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 3, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00PM- 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
