I met Dough in the spring of 1993 when he offered me my first role as a stage actor in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. It was the lead, I was nervous, but Doug was very supportive and encouraging. He gave me my start and for this I am ever grateful. Doug also introduced me to the Beat Generation, influences that have largely shaped my life. We shared many hilarious and delirious moments and adventures during the 90s. I’ve often wondered about him over the past couple of decades (his absence was felt by our network of friends since the emergence of social media) and am sad to hear that his tale has come to an early end. He was fierce, passionate, talented and bright. Thanks for sharing the flame, Doug. Rest in piece, brother. My heartfelt sympathies to his loved ones.
