Obituary of Annie Elizabeth Lyon
It is with great sadness the family of Annie Elizabeth (Reid) Lyon announce her passing, at the Saint John Regional Hospital on July 6, 2023. Born in Summer Hill, NB, on March 1, 1933, Annie is a daughter of the late Albert and Edith (Dale) Reid, and widow of the late Clifford Leslie Lyon.
Annie is survived by her four sons; Dale (Donna) of Truro, NS, Brian (Heather) of Grand Bay-Westfield,NB, Glenn (Carrie) of Milton, ON, and Brent, at home. Two daughters; Dawne Jewis and Brenda Lyon, both of Grand Bay-Westfield,NB, nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one sister; Alma Reid, of Saint John, NB, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Annie is predeceased by her parents, Albert and Edith, her beloved husband, Clifford, her grandson, Brandon, and her brother, Robert Reid.
Annie enjoyed baking, knitting, going to card parties or listening to local, live music whenever she had the chance. She was a member of the Beaus and Belles Square dance Club for 20 years, and a long-time member of the Westfield United Church Women, and the Base Gagetown Historical Association. Annie loved spending time with her family and friends the most and will be missed by all who knew her.
Annie and her family are so grateful for the exceptional medical care and compassion shown by Dr Smolinski, Dr O'Brien and the entire staff of the Palliative Care unit. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634-1701). A visitation will be held on Tuesday July 11, 2023, from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8 pm at Castle Funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at 1:00pm at Castle “Fallsview” Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
