Obituary of Germaine Marie-Constance Nicolle

With heavy hearts the family of Germaine Marie-Constance Nicolle announces her passing on June 20, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Fredericton, NB on January 19, 1944, and raised in Neguac, she was a daughter of the late Philias and May-Marie (nee Forbes) Savoie.

Germaine had been employed as a bookkeeper for Jacobson Co., and then a Tupperware Manager for 28 years. She enjoyed playing cards and was an avid bowler. Germaine enjoyed the company of her family and was very active with the Our Lady of the Assumption and Carleton-Kirk Church.

Germaine is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Preston; sons Leo-Paul (Marie Therese) Savoie and Gary Anthony (Sue) Richard; grandson Luc Savoie; brothers: Clifford (Audea), Dennis (Jeanine), Arthur (Barbara), and Roger Savoie; sisters: Leola (Alphonse) Plourde, Alita Legere, and Blanche Stewart; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her infant daughter Leigh-Ann, sister Suzanne Savoie, and brothers-in-law Emile Legere and Donald Stewart.

The family would like to send a special thank-you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, for their outstanding care and compassion.

Resting at Castle Funeral Home (506) 634-1701 (309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John, NB) visitation for Germaine will be on Thursday, June 22 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at the Carleton-Kirk United Church (1 Carleton Kirk Place) on Friday, June 23, 2023, beginning 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Oceanview Memorial Gardens, Donations in Germaine’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Carleton-Kirk United Church, or the charity of your choice.
