Obituary of Sharon Martha Gilliland
It is with broken hearts the family of Sharon Martha (Weaver) Gilliland announce her passing on June 7, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital with her family by her side. Born in 1949, in Saint John, N.B., Sharon is a daughter of the late Francis and Dorothy (Ricketts) Weaver, and beloved wife of Gerald Russell Gilliland.
Sharon loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren, she was very proud of each of them. She loved her Siberian Huskies and could often be found walking them in her neighbourhood, specifically her most recent pup, Meeka, who she loved dearly.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Gerald (Gerry) Gilliland, two sons, Jeff (Claire) Gilliland, of Quispamsis, Mark (Tracey Kent) Gilliland, of Halifax, N.S., three grandchildren, Evan (Jada Smith) Gilliland, of Quispamsis, Kara Gilliland, of Quispamsis, and Wendel Gilliland, of Halifax, N.S., one sister, Arlene Trask, of Saint John, her best friend, Judy Boudreau, of Saint John, sister in law, Davina Weaver, of Saint John, several nieces and nephews.
Sharon is predeceased by her parents, Francis and Dorothy Weaver, brothers, David Weaver, Paul Weaver, Bill Weaver, and Dennis Weaver, sisters, Pauline Weaver, Patricia Maguire, Doreen Belyea and special niece Deanna Weaver.
The arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). A private family funeral will be held. Donations to Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation – Palliative Care Unit or the SPCA - Saint John would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be made at www. Castlefh.ca
