Obituary of Mary Irene Gray
Mary Irene Gray of Saint John passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Tuesday, April 4,2023. Born in Maugerville NB, on March 4 1930, she was the daughter of the late George and Myrtle (Blizzard) MacFawn and wife of the late Leonard Gray.
Mary was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church and she enjoyed bowling with the Monday Afternoon Seniors League.
She will be sadly missed by her devoted children, son Paul Gray (Judy), daughter Betty Rooney (Daniel), cherished grandchildren, Crystal McCoy (Michael), Christine Shannon (Stephen), Jeffrey Rooney (Lisa), Angela Morrison (Jeff) and six great-grandchildren, Alexander and Hudson McCoy, Sam Shannon, Ryan and Jenna Rooney , and Emma Morrison. Also survived by her sisters Louis Proulx, and Marlene Hopkins and brother Harry MacFawn all of Florida, and a special cousin, Jimmy MacFawn.
Also, predeceased by siblings twin brother and sister Howard MacFawn and Muriel (Bobbie ) Dunlap ; Carro Poole; and beloved twin sister Margaret Oagles.
Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, visitation Wednesday April 5th from 6:00-8:00PM. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM at Castle “Fallsview Chapel” on Thursday, April 6th 2023 with Pastor Dan Lamos. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
