Obituary of Helen Doreen Smith
With broken hearts, the family of Helen Doreen Smith (Yeomans) (nee Murphy) announce her peaceful passing into the arms of her Lord on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Born in Saint John NB, on November 6, 1936, she was a daughter of the late William and Alvina (nee Guitere) Murphy.
Helen was full of life and had a tremendous loving heart. Family meant everything to her, and she was always there by their side when in need. A woman of faith, Helen was an active member of the Fundamental Baptist Church for over 40 years. She was strong and independent, and her loving spirit will live on in each of us.
Helen is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Earle W. Smith; children Timothy (Crystal) and Wendy (Daniel); stepchildren Allan (Lori) and Nancy (Jonathan); step daughter-in-law Brenda; 7 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Helen was predeceased by her first husband of 47 years, Daryl Yeomans; daughter Cheryl; infant son David; stepson Wayne; infant granddaughter Jodi; parents William and Alvina; sisters: Dorothy, Marjorie, and Constance; and brother Ronald.
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701) visitation for Helen will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 PM & 7:00-9:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023, at the Fundamental Baptist Church (1170 Sand Cove Rd, Saint John, NB E2M 0G3) beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in the spring.
