Obituary of John Arthur Knight
It is with great sadness the family announce the peaceful passing of John Arthur Knight, husband of Norma (Gogan) Knight on Thursday February 16, 2023 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Brockton, Mass, USA in 1942. John was a son of the late Florence (Williams) (Knight) Cushing.
John worked for Irving for many years retiring from RST after 25 years of service.
When John was in good health, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and shuffleboard. His favorite pastime was playing Bingo with his Bingo friends, Jimmy, Margie, Rita, and Bertha.
John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Norma L. (Gogan) Knight, of Saint John, two daughters; Lisa (Joe Butler) Mulroney, and Lori (Paul Robichaud) Knight, both of Saint John, three grandchildren; Matthew Saunders, Destiny (Stryker) Mulrooney, and Alyssa (Markcus) Mulrooney, all of Saint John, great grandchildren, Aubrey, Grace, and twins (boy and girl) due in April 2023, one brother; Roger Knight, of Saint John, and nieces and nephews.
John is predeceased by his mother, Florence Knight Cushing, two brothers; Howard Knight and Kenneth (Audrey) Knight.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, (634 1701). As per John’s wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no visiting or funeral service at this time. Donations to the Knights of Columbus (Bingo Tuesday night) or the Milford Memorial Community Center or the Denis Morris Community Center would be appreciated by the family.
