Mike, We lived beside your dad for many years and got to interact with him regularly. He was a great guy, cared for others, fun to chat with and always had a spare tooth pick if you needed one. lol. He gave me my first job in construction driving dump truck and from that I built a career in the civil construction industry. He will be one of the guys that I will never forget and will hold fond memories of. Glen Porter

Haven't seen Jim for a good many years. So saddened to read this obituary. Have fond memories of "Jimmy" when we were back @ Assumption School. He was a kid that could always be relied upon--one who seemed to have the proverbial "old head on young shoulders " ...very caring. That quality no doubt helped him tremendously in his business dealings. What we also had in common was that our Dad's were both CP Rail Locomotive Engineers so we knew the ups and downs of railroad life. Deepest sympathy to the entire Dineen family.

I send condolences to Jim's family and friends who loved him. He was a childhood friend who always looked after us younger guys when things got rough at Beaconsfield rink. He loved Gordie Howe and his Red Wings and loved to have the old Howe/Richard dispute with all comers. Duck Cove was a great place to play games especially baseball and Jimmy, Johnny Doyle and the Murray brothers (Peter & Mike) were good hosts. Rest in Peace old friend.
