Obituary of Ethel Elizabeth Carson

It is with sadness that the family of Ethel Elizabeth (Short) Carson, of Oak Point, announces her peaceful passing on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital with family by her side. She was born October 29, 1944, in Saint John and was the daughter of the late Wendell Short and Idora (Hamilton) Short.

Ethel is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Glendon and son, Donald, brothers: Allan (Judy) of Oak Point and James (Gail) of East Saint John; brother-in-law, Ken Carson of Saint John; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ethel graduated from Browns Flat High School where she was valedictorian. She worked for GE Barbour Company and Simms Brush Factory in Saint John.  She was a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Greenwich ACW.  She had a beautiful singing voice and will be remembered for her many solos.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John.  (634-1701). Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  As per Ethel’s wishes there will be no funeral service. A private family interment will take place Thursday, November 3, 2022, at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Oak Point.

Donations in Ethel’s memory to St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Canadian Cancer Society or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
