Obituary of Muriel Pettie
Pettie, Muriel Blanche Passed away on Tuesday, July 03, 2012 at the St. John St. Stephen Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Minnie B. (Cooper) Pettie. Born in Saint John, N.B. on March 15, 1921, she is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her sisters, Myrtle, Hazel and Helen; brothers, Gordon, John and Thomas. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Aunt Biddo lived in Toronto for many years, working for Royal Trust for 35 years, before moving back to Saint John in 1995. She loved to travel; visiting Europe, Asia as well as parts of Canada and the U.S. The family thanks the nurses and staff of St. John St. Stephen for their excellent care and compassion shown to Muriel during her stay since 2007. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, “Fallsview Chapel”, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West (634-1701) visitation will be held on Saturday, July 07, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., with a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at Castle Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the Fallsview Family Reception Center. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. Donations, in memory of Muriel, may be made to the CNIB, Kidney Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
