Obituary of Winfield Blagden
Winfield Blagden passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, January 30,2016 at the Carleton Kirk Lodge. Winnie was born in Saint John on December 27, 1916. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Sadie (Allingham) Flewelling. She was predeceased by her husband Murray H. Blagden in 1973. Winnie was the last surviving member of her immediate family, predeceased by sisters May Kierstead, Olive Allingham Pike, Dorothy Pierce and brother John Flewelling. Winnie resided all her life in Saint John, and in her earlier years worked at MRA's, CNIB and was an Avon Representative for many years. She is survived by two sons Bill (Mary)Blagden, Stephen Blagden and one daughter, Patricia (Jim) Morrissey all of Saint John , six grandchildren, Jim Blagden, Jamie Morrissey, Amy Bowe-Blagden, Shaun Morrissey, Bob Vautour and Roger Vautour, great grandchildren, Brad, Nick, Logan, Colin, Tyler, Lauren and Ryan,great great granddaughter Drew and several caring nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Edna Flewelling. Arrangements have been entrusted to Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John,(634 1701).In keeping with Winnie's wishes cremation has taken place and a graveside service will take place later in the spring. Donations to the Carleton Kirk Lodge or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caring staff at the Carleton Kirk Lodge where Winnie spent her last year.
