On behalf of the Community Suicide Prevention Committee , I would like to offer our sincerest and most profound condolences to the family of Rocky; he was a regular contributor to the affairs of our group and his wise and often practical guidance and direction was welcomed; Rocky unselfishly devouted his time to our efforts and joined us in our Curling Team despite physical challenges. As Chair, I got to know Rocky and always respected his views as he was a strong advocate for the mental health and well being of our community. As you grieve and mourn the loss of Rocky , please take some refuge in knowing your sadness is shared by so many that had the honor and privildge to be associated with Rocky. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we will be making a donation to a charity cause in his name. May God bless in your time of sorrow.

Judy and I are so sorry to hear of Rocky's death. He truly was an inspiration from the time we first met him as part of our youth ministry at Hillcrest to his final phone call to us a couple of months ago. He was a joy to be around and was a source of encouragement and perseverance. One of the things I will always remember was the day that Rocky gave his life to Christ. One of the leaders in our group asked him what that meant. Without any prompting from us his response was, "It means when I get to Heaven I won't have this stupid wheelchair." For us our friend has realized that statement and he is free from all pain and suffering. Thank you for the privilege of knowing Rocky. His memory will be with us always.

Judy and Paul, and family , I was so saddened to hear of Rocky's passing. I have many, many fond memories of the time that he was in my Gr. 6 class... he brought us a lot of joy that year. I would start down the hallway in the morning, and before I ever made it to the classroom, he would callout, "Good Morning, Mrs. Johnson"... sometimes I would use the hallway across from our room, but he always knew it as me coming.... I asked how he could always be so sure. He'd smile and say,:I know the click of your high heels!" I'd start my morning sitting with him before the other students arrived and he would tell me all about the previous evening... usually he had a funny story... and he always had a joke. I loved my time with him. He was a special little boy who grew into a wonderful man. My heart aches for you in your loss. Thinking of you, Faye

Judy - I was deeply saddened to learn of Rock's passing, and want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of grief. I remember Rocky coming into PES many years ago during disability awareness week, so proud to be in his mom's school, and to be teaching the children, just like you. I am very disappointed that I will not be available to attend the visitation with Jen, however I am travelling to Halifax tomorrow afternoon for work. Again, my deepest sympathies to you, and your entire family.

Judy and Paul,I have fond memories of the visits I had with Rocky and can still see his big smile when he moved into the McDonald House in Moncton. Rocky had a wonderful positive attitude and lived his life in a full way...not allowing his limitations to interfere! It saddens me that you have to go through this difficult time. Know that your faith will get you through this. Rocky is now free of pain and suffering. You were a remarkable mother to Rocky...don't ever forget that!!!!! I'm very sorry for your loss. I grew up in the neighbourhood and have very fond memories of Rocky always calling out a friendly hello to me. Being a few years younger, Rocky's kind hello always made my day as the "big kids" in the neighbourhood often didn't give younger kids the time of day. Rocky's kindness was truly appreciated.

JudyI am so sad to hear of Rocky's passing. It was a joy being his Educational Assistant for seven years during his middle and high school years. I enjoyed his phone calls after graduation and finding out what was going on his life and he was always asking about my children and grandchildren. It is so sad to lose a son but take comfort knowing he never let his challenges stop him from doing anything and his accomplishments were remarkable and you were such an inspiration to him. He always spoke highly of you anytime we spoke. I will certainly miss his calls! Please know my condolences are with you and your family at this difficult time.SincerelyNicole
