Dear Elizabeth, dear Kyle and dear Gareth. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Holger FieronStapelfeld, Germany

My sincere condolences. As you reflect on cherished memories to be comforted also take to heart our Creator's loving promise to end death and all forms of suffering. He will reunite us with our loved ones to enjoy a life of true happiness and peace forever. (Revelation 21:4; "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Acts 24:15 " And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." ) The following link provides more comforting thoughts from God's word: www.jw.org/en/publications/books/dead-live-again-tract/dead-live-again/

Our thoughts and prayers are with you since we heard of the passing of Mark. We have always been so grateful for the the care that you all gave to our son Ryan while he was in Saint John. He always spoke so highly of Mark during his stay with your family. It was obvious that Mark was a very positive influence on Ryan. As parents you can only hope the path of your children introduce them to positive people. There was no doubt that Mark was able to provide that for our son. We will always be grateful

Mark was more than a Colleague and always a friend. To work with Mark as a fellow Engineer, and discuss many problems and solutions was an honor and a privilege. Mark always wanted to know the answer and would never stop asking questions about what was on his mind. His attention to detail and go the extra mile was ever so appreciated and he always did more than his share. We will miss Mark as he always had a calm demeanor which could bring order to our confused situations we always seem to get into. No matter what time or day, we could depend on Mark. We wish to extend condolences to his remaining family and relatives who Mark always talked about. We have certainly lost a great person this day and everyone will certainly remember him in their own special way.

I first met Mark when I was assigned to the Blue Puttees in January 2011. It didn't take long for me to realize that he possessed qualities that made him an exemplary Chief Engineer; presence of mind, an excellent knowledge of the sophisticated equipment on the vessel, and the ability to stay cool even under periods of stress. But the most memorable thing about this man was his sense of humour and ability to interact with others.I usually called Mark "Chief" when addressing him. Almost at the end of our last shift, he looked at me and said with that unmistakeable British accent, "Steve, just call me Mark, will you"?Well Mark, I know you're in God's hands now. You will be missed here for sure. And heaven will be a better place with you in it.My deepest and sincerest condolences to Mark's family and close friends.

My deepest condolences go out to Mark's family. I worked side by side with Mark for the years he was Chief Engineer on the Blue Puttees and he was not only my boss but a very dear friend. I will miss his smile and quick wit and I will always remember that no matter what would happen in the day to day work aboard the boat he was always cool under pressure and never lost his head when things went wrong. When my wife's family suffered the deaths of her mother and older sister over the last 2 years he was there with kindness and compassion for our losses. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Beth, Kyle & Gareth and extened family - there are no words at this time that will change things or lessen the deep hurt you are feeling - but sharing memories of Mark - hearing all the stories of how he engaged people, treated co-workers, friends, family etc. will help a tiny bit on your journey in the days to come. I have always had great respect for Mark and any of the times I would cross paths with him on the Princess of Acadia I could be guaranteed that he would have a huge smile, a wink in his eye and a laugh. He never ceased to talk about his family and ALWAYS asked about my girls. He really was one of the good guys - and he leaves a huge hole in many hearts now. Please know that I am lifting each of you up in prayer - and Beth especially I pray that God will bring you comfort and sustain you as you go forward without him to share your days. R.I.P. Mark
