Obituary of Florence Pearl Chapman

CHAPMAN, Florence Pearl-  It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Florence P. Chapman (Burnett) at her home in Martinon with her family at her side. Loving wife of 67 years of Eric George Chapman, daughter of the late John and Alice (Mainville) Burnett. Born August 23, 1927, she was predeceased by her parents; four brothers, John, Fred, Leo, William, four sisters; Elsie, Dorothy, Hazel, and Bernice, and also her first born son Eric George. She was born and raised on the lower  West side of Saint John, and could tell you so many stories of happenings and tales  of great times when the West side was the best side. Mom leaves behind a wonderful and devoted husband Eric George and, Daughters, Debra A. (Robert), Brenda L., Kathy L. ( who moved home to help her father), five sons, Wayne (Dianne), Richard (Bernice), Michael (Maryanne), Timothy (Pauline), Kevin (Lori) and wonderful daughter in- law Linda Chapman. Nine wonderful grandchildren, and nine wonderful Great grandchildren. One sister in- law, Dorothy Burnett of Ontario. Mom was the center of our family with Dad and their home was where we all met to talk, visit, eat, and just hang out whenever we wanted. Mom’s cooking was the best and in later years Dad became the cook for which  she was taster and critic. Florence  was a member of TOPS in the early years and could always tell a good story of her times with Marg Day and the girls. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster ave. with visitation on Tuesday from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. Funeral service will be held in the Fallsview Chapel on Wednesday January 9, 2013 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. For those who wish to make rememberances, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Bobby’s Hospice or Diabetes would be appreciated by the family. www. Castlefh.com.
