Obituary of Mary Melvin
Melvin, Mary "Bonnie" Veronica (Farren) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnie Melvin on August 31, 2011. She was born in Bloomfield NB, and as a child moved to West Saint John where she resided for the rest of her life. She was the daughter of the late James and Marjorie (Hodgin) Farren. Mary was predeceased by her husband Manford E. Melvin; one son Stephen Melvin; two daughters Lorna Fox, and Kathy Taylor; grandson Michael Taylor; brother Johnny and sister Marie. She is survived by daughter Linda (Paul) McManus; son Roy; daughter in law Brenda Melvin; grandchildren Tommy, Erica, Jimmy, Mark, Stacey, Jacob, Nick; great granddaughter Jordin; Mary will also be remembered by her brother Percy Allen as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Bonnie's favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends and going to bingo. She was employed by Crosby Molasses, Simms Brush Factory and The Saint John Regional Hospital. After a long and lengthy illness, Bonnie closed her eyes and went home to God. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) with visiting on Friday, September 2, 2011 from 2-4, and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday September 3, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at the Carleton Kirk Lodge for the love and kindness shown to Mom during her stay. Donations in Bonnie's name may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cancer Society
