Elizabeth, David and Heather; David and I are very sorry for your loss. Dean was an awesome man, always encouraging and uplifting to everyone he met. I still carry in my wallet a business card of his from Allstate where he wrote a 'note of encouragement' to us while he sat behind us in the balcony at church one night almost 30 years ago.... of course he wrote it when he should have been listening to the sermon (smile)... We will all miss him, but rest assure he will be talked about and remembered fondly for a lot of years!! We are praying for you all. Love Pearl and David.

Dear Elizabeth & Families, Our hearts were in shock, learning of Dean's passing... Mentally, with your information updates on Facebook, we knew the time was drawing close for him to head up yonder for his permanent and glorious home. You Folks have always been cherished friends over the years, and what you have meant to us will never be forgotten. From Dean's ever-present wit and smile, to his strong stand on the Bible and his faith, he towered above many more than we can ever realize. His keen insights into many people and current events, always made for very entertaining reading. Sadly missed for now, but with great comfort of seeing him again, our lives were, and are, so much richer for having known Dean. We are but only a call or email away for anything you need. ((((Hugs)))) + {{{{Love}}}} & [[[[Prayers]]]] Always, Bill & Marcia Barkus And Carol Barkus (Quispamsis NB)

Elizabeth & family, we were so sorry to hear of your loss. Knowing Deans time on this earth was drawing close was very sad for all who knew him. He was such an encourager and had a way of bringing humour into what often was a serious situation. Laughter always takes the pressure off and Dean had a way of making that happen. We will miss his humour, lively debates. jokes but mostly encouraging words from Gods Word which many people saw on FB daily. Praying that all the great memories you shared as a family will keep Dean close to your hearts until you meet again. What a day that will be! Love & Prayers, Don & Betty Phillips

Elizabeth and Family, we are saddened that Dean is no longer with us but we will all remember his dedication, his kindness and his sense of humour. Doug and i were just talking about the time you and Dean came to have supper with us. Doug didn't know Dean very well and when we sat down to eat, Dean took his first bite then turned to Doug and said "And you said she wasn't a good cook". Yes, Dean liked to stir the pot.May the Holy Spirit surround you with His love and peace at this difficult time.

Dear Elizabeth and Family, It was such a joy to have made friends with such a lovely couple back some years ago on the Maritime Tour and to have kept that friendship alive since then. You folks brought joy and encouragement to so many people as you fellowshipped all over the country. I especially remember your visits with me (us) at the Brooksville Wesleyan Village each winter. May God be with each of you during this time and in the days to come giving you His love, peace, and comfort. The special verse God gave me at my husband's death was Romans 8:28. We may not know and understand why these things happen, but we know we can trust the Almighty One to take care of everything! God bless!

What a wonderful life Dean had ... he enjoyed everything. Whether I saw him at his Allstate office on Mountain Road, at the fellowship group or at church he always had a smile. He always looked like he was up to something. My daughter, Melissa, mentioned how she looked forward to him passing out candy after church was over on Sundays in the lobby. Young and old alike could not help but love him. I remember once in Merle Smith's Sunday School class Elizabeth and Dean were interviewed by Merle about the success of their marriage. Dean absoultely adored Elizabeth, and was so proud of David & Heather. He is no longer in pain and in a much better place. I am sure that when Dean entered heaven there was a big reunion in heaven with those that have gone before him. I pray that your all of your great memories will bring you comfort in the days of adjustment ahead. Dean would want you to be happy and to enjoy your lives .. not to be sad. Earth's loss and heaven's gain .... a life well lived. We will love and miss you Dean.

Heaven is a little brighter, now that Dean has enter, in...... I was greatly affected by Dean, in so many ways...We often joked about our lack of "political corrected-ness" and our love for --all things, "Albert County"... Dean and I were kindred souls when it came to speaking out against things that mattered....unjust laws and Politicians and leaders, who undermined the Constitution, We are both warriors about defending anything that is built on Godly principles ....I will miss him on Facebook...He was always lighting a fire, of one sort or another (and SOMETIMES, putting out a few, too)... He enjoyed, engaging us in (sometimes,in VERY heated debates) as we responded to his latest tidbit of information--dangled"out there, in Facebook-Land)....Dean engaged us. Dean made us think about, well, what we thought and WHY we thought, the way we thought.....He inspired us to be better...to be MORE...to do more and to love God, even more, than ever....Dean was a leader, par excellence...He was a mentor, a "Pain in the neck", in the good sort of way...He was a person of wit and wisdom...Dean made me want to be a better person. I miss him....and, if I could ask him, just one question, about Heaven....I think I would ask him if there are any Cats there..... Love you, my friend. God blessed us all, through your life and your love. Deb

To all of Dean's family, may God be comfort you and give you peace during this time. My memories of working with Dean at Kingswood Univ. are rich and full of laughter, pranks, and real advancement as he and Elizabeth shared their passion and vision for the college with people all across North America. It is not hard at all for me to imagine Dean in that place - where to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Dean modeled the 'joy of the Lord" in all of life.

Give Thanks with a grateful heart, Give Thanks to the Holy One and Give Thanks to the Lord for sharing Dean Edgett with us for 74 quality years.Well my facial hair is looking like Dean's. That is what comes from years of experiences and time on this Earth that is so precious.I think all that knew or were a part of Dean's life / world would agree that he was indeed PRECIOUS, unique and one of a kind.I had the privilege in 1998-00 to call Moncton Wesleyan Church my church. During that time I made friendships that remain strong with many people even though my time there was very short. I regret that I never got to know Dean or Elizabeth during that time. I knew who he was but the stars were not aligned at that time. However through the miracle of Al Gore, the internet and Mark Zuckerberg I became friends with Dean Edgett because I think he was friends with half of New Brunswick and through the six degrees of separation we had many mutual friends. When we connected on Facebook that led to long distance telephone call from the Pacific to the Atlantic. We shared our commonalities and love of Jesus Christ, Photography, Insurance industry etc.Life's not fair but God is good. When faced with his critical illness, Dean attempted every last possible medical solution to regain his health. However God had better plans for Dean. I can honestly sit here writing this share that God was using Dean through this chapter to teach all of us how to face these trials with humour and tenacity. Two years ago Dean and Elizabeth so graciously stopped in on me when returning from one of their Kingswood pilgrimages. We enjoyed fellowship and Dean left me with a Kingswood coffee mug. I will treasure that forever.I know with Dean's leadership skills God has already recruited and put Dean to work. Matthew 25:23 : “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’To Elizabeth David Heather Family and friends I share in your sorrow but I celebrate a life well lived.
