Obituary of Lyma Cooper
Lyma Elva (Burgess) Cooper passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on February 18, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Kaye and Elva (King) Burgess; stepmother, Jean (Sinclair) Burgess. Lyma was employed at the Saint John Protestant Orphanage and retired from TS Simms after 40 years of employment. She was a member of the Lancaster Baptist Church. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Alban (Beryl) Burgess; sister, Wanda Burgess. Arrangements are entrusted to Castle Funeral Home, “Fallsview Chapel”, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West (634-1701) there will be no visitation or service, by Lyma’s request. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lyma may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
