Obituary of Elsie Raynes
The death of Elsie Greta Raynes, wife of the late Edison F. Raynes occurred on May 20, 2012 at The Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in New Jerusalem, Queens County, NB on November 25, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Mabel (Hamilton) Moore. She is survived by her 3 sons Floyd (Carol) Raynes, Norman (Barbara) Raynes, Keith Raynes; daughter, Myrna (Wayne) Richardson; 8 grandchildren Cheryl, Tina, Mark, Anthony, Rosalyn, Shelly, Debbie, and Becky. She will also be missed by many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Elsie was also predeceased by her two sisters Merle Francis, and Elva Shortt. Elsie was an active member of Brown’s Flat United Baptist Church and choir member for many years, she later joined Central Baptist Church. Elsie was a devoted homemaker to family and friends. The memorial service will be held on Monday, May 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701). A reception will follow at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre, and the interment at Brown’s Flat United Baptist Cemetery The family would like to thank Bernice Patterson for the love and kindness shown to Elsie and her family. Also, a special thank you to Anita Stevens for the care and compassion shown to Mom over the years. Donations in Elsie’s name may be made to the Brown’s Flat United Baptist Church.
